The Value Stream Mapping (VSM) tool is the graphical representation of current and future state production system, used to identify waste in a specific process recommended for companies that want start on Lean Manufacturing path. This article presents documentary analysis its application know benefits limitations can be found at moment making decisions about it. As result, it was VSM easy simple apply consists five main steps development; however, inadequate application, lack knowledge processes, their complexity requires use other tools complement results when decisions.
